Privacy Policy for Plate Tally
Effective date: November 2, 2026
Plate Tally ("the App") is a workout tracker developed by Bog Interactive LLC ("Bog Interactive", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Android app. For how boginteractive.com itself handles data (contact form, merch shop, email signups), see the general Bog Interactive privacy policy.
1. The short version
Plate Tally works fully without an account, and then everything stays on your own device. If you choose to sign in with Google, your workouts, body measurements and progress photos are also backed up to your account so you can use them on more than one phone. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking tools in the App. We do not sell or share your information.
2. What the App stores on your device
Only if you enter it, the App saves the following in its own storage on your device:
- Your first name, height and weight (used to suggest starting weights and goals).
- Your workouts, sets, reps, weights, notes, plans and goals.
- Weigh-ins and body measurements.
- Progress photos and check-in notes, if you choose to add them.
- Your settings.
If you never sign in, none of this is sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.
3. If you sign in with Google (optional)
Signing in is optional and is offered in Settings, under Account. When you sign in:
- Google tells us your Google account email address and a Google account ID. We do not receive your Google password, contacts or any other Google data.
- The information listed in section 2 (including progress photos) is copied to your account on our servers, so it can be restored or used on another phone where you sign in.
- We keep a sign-in session on your device (a cookie) so you stay signed in for up to 90 days, until you sign out.
We use this information only to provide backup and sync. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers that run the App (below). Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with Cloudflare, which also encrypts it at rest.
4. Progress photos
You pick photos from your device. The App makes a smaller copy and keeps it in its own storage on your device. If you are signed in, the copy is also stored in your account. The App does not analyze, scan or recognize anything in your photos. They are there for you to look at and compare. Deleting a check-in deletes its photos from your device and, at the next sync, from your account.
5. Backups and files you save
The App can save a backup file (workouts, or photos) or a spreadsheet when you tap the download button, and can restore from a backup you choose. Those files are created by you and stay where you save them. They contain personal fitness information, so keep them somewhere safe.
6. Service providers
Plate Tally opens its screens from platetally.boginteractive.com and, when you are signed in, stores your account data with Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and database). Cloudflare may process technical request details such as IP address and device type. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Signing in uses Google Sign-In, subject to the Google Privacy Policy. The Google sign-in code is loaded only when you tap "Sign in with Google"; if you never do, the App requests nothing from Google. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Health and fitness information
Plate Tally gives general fitness suggestions based on what you enter. It is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise program.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
- On your device: your data stays there until you remove it. In the App, Settings, then "Erase everything" deletes it. You can also clear the App's storage in your phone's settings, or uninstall the App.
- In your account: in the App, Settings, Account, then "Delete my account and cloud data" deletes your account and everything stored in it right away. If you cannot open the App, see how to delete your account.
- Deleted data can remain in our database provider's protective backups for up to 30 days before it is permanently removed.
- If you never sign in we hold nothing about you, and we cannot recover data you lose. Make a backup from Settings if you want a spare copy.
